HomeMy WebLinkAbout20041762.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 47 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 2 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that Stop and Stop Ahead signs be installed on Weld County Road 47 at Weld County Road 2, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install Stop and Stop Ahead signs on Weld County Road 47 at Weld County Road 2, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Enclosures pc: Wayne Howard, Design Project Manager M:\Franci e\Agenda-2.doc 2004-1762 KitMEMORANDUM ng 7O: Wayne Howard DATE: 6/17/04 IProject Manager FROM Marc Street QMaintenance Support Supervisor • COLORADO SUBJECT: Installation of a Stop and Stop Ahead sign at WCR 47 and WCR 2 It has been brought to the attention of Maintenance Support the need for the installation of a Stop and Stop Ahead sign at the intersection of WCR 47 and WCR 2 ( E st. 168 th. Ave.). This intersection was a Tee intersection previously. Adams County has upgraded WCR 2 East and West of WCR 47 with asphalt and created a new street south of the intersection going into the Box Elder Creek subdivision. There was a Stop sign placed by Adams County on this street for northbound traffic. It is the recommendation of this department that a Stop and Stop Ahead sign be placed on WCR 47 coming onto WCR 2 for southbound traffic to insure the safety of the traveling public. All signing to conform to the Uniform Traffic Control Manual.
