RE: APPROVAL TO INCREASE CHANGE FUND FOR SHERIFF' S OFFICE.
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on January 10 , 1979 , the Board of County
Commissioners established a change fund in the amount of ONE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 . 00) for the Sheriff ' s Office, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff' s Office has requested that their
change fund be increased from ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 . 00) to
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 . 00) because of the activity in the
change fund for providing change for the Civil Process Fees, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Administration has
recommended that said change fund be increased to TWO HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($200. 00) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County that the change fund for the
Sheriff' s Office be, and hereby is , increased from ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($100 . 00) to TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 .00) .
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 2nd day of
July, A.D. , 1984 .

Subject: Change Fund
We presently have a $100. change fund box. Since the inception of the
$15. civil process fee, we find that the demand for change is greater than
the supply. Most people who pay in cash are paying with a $20. bill.
This results in the change fund rapidly being depleted of $5. bills . A
bank run is being done at least once a week if not sooner.
I request that the Accounting Department increase our change fund by $100.
giving us a $200. change fund which should meet the greater needs of our
public.
