RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE BRIDGE 27/58A, SHEEP DRAW
PRIVATE UTILITY RELOCATION BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Bridge 27/58A, Sheep Draw Private Utility Relocation Bid for the Department of Public
Works, Bid Request No.WEL027.0-058A, to allow the project to be completed within the Federal
Bridge Replacement Grant deadline, and
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that the ten-day waiting period for the Bridge 27/58A,Sheep Draw Private Utility
Relocation Bid for the Department of Public Works, Bid Request No. WEL027.0-058 be,and hereby
is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from GLH Construction, Inc.
be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 8th day of December, A.D., 2004.

RE: Bridge 27/58A, Sheep Draw—Private Utility Relocation
Public Works received quotes from two qualified vendors to perform relocation of private utilities that
will be impacted by the construction of Weld County's Sheep Draw Bridge Project. The work is part of
Right of Way negotiations and includes relocating and reconnection of water line and meter and
relocation of a portion of an existing leach field. Quotes were received from GLH Construction Inc. for
the amount of$12,363.92 and Buxman Excavating for the amount of$21,897.00.
It is my recommendation to award the project to GLH Construction, Inc. for$12,363.92.
The project is funded with a Federal Bridge Replacement Grant and the local agency match is shared
between Weld County and the City of Greeley. The project is within the established budget.
