Subject: Holiday schedule for the Weld County Library, 1980
If possible, we should like to have the following holiday schedule for the
library in the coming year:
NEW YEAR'S DAY Tuesday, January 1, 1980
PRESIDENTS' DAY Monday, February 18, 1980
MEMORIAL DAY Monday, May 26, 1980
INDEPENDENCE DAY Friday, July 4, 1980
COLORADO DAY Monday, August 4, 1980
LABOR DAY Monday, September 1, 1980
VETERANS' DAY Monday, November 10, 1980
THANKSGIVING DAY Thursday, November 27, 1980
CHRISTMAS EVE DAY Wednesday, December 24, 1980
CHRISTMAS DAy Thursday, December 25, 1980
One half of the staff would have Friday, November 28 as a holiday, and
one half would have Friday, December 26, but the library would be open
for business. These are always times of heavy patronage for us.
As a replacement for the 12th holiday, each staff could choose one
other single day, but not one added to regular vacation days.
The day before Christmas is always a very slow day while Election Day
is one with normal usage, perhaps even increased since we are a polling
place now.
