The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 2, 2004, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Chair
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem
Commissioner M. J. Geile
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding
Controller/Treasurer, Claud Hanes
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of July 28, 2004, as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Claud Hanes, Controller/Treasurer, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the
amount of$295,008.08. CommissionerJerke moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr.Warden.
Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER LEASE FOR OFFICE SPACE IN SOCIAL SERVICES BUILDING AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR
TO SIGN - MULTIDISCIPLINARY YOUTH ASSESSMENT (MYAT)TEAM: Judy Griego, Department of
Social Services,stated this agreement provides rent-free space to the MultidisciplinaryYouth Assessment
Team. She stated the term of said lease is June 1, 2004, through June 30, 2006. Commissioner Vaad
moved to approve said lease and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Geile, the
motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER REVISION TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 6.000, COLORADO WORKS IN WELD
COUNTY AND CHILD CARE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Ms.Griego stated this revision incorporates
changes to the Section regarding the Multidisciplinary Youth Assessment Team and Program. She stated
this section has been amended to include the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Public Health
and Environment, as well as new funding guidelines and authorities through Colorado Works or TANF
funding. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said revision. The motion, which was seconded by
Commissioner Long, carried unanimously.

Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
