The Weld County Council met in regular sessio�n in full_ c tS t ty
with the Weld County Home Rule Charter at 91510th Street, Greeley,
Colorado, January 17, 1980 at the hour of 1:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL: The following members were present:
Ralph Waldo, President
Gary Kampel, Vice President
Cedric Hallock, Councilmember
Robert Martin, Councilmember
Also present: See attached registration sheet; Commissioners
Carlson and Roe; 5 members of the press; and the secretary,
Beverly Thomas.
PURCHASE ORDERS: Robert Martin made a motion, seconded by Gary Kampel,
that vouchers 5226 and 5227 be approved for payment.
AIRPORT HEARING: Mr. Waldo read a letter from Mr. Mel Irvine that
stated Mr. Irvine's opinion on the expansion of the Weld County
Municipal Airport. Mr. Waldo asked speakers to give their name,
address, interest in the airport, and to answer the question,
"What priority do you attach to the airport for county funding?"
Citizens presented their concerns about the airport in the
following order:

Tom Selders Company Pilot
Mrs. W. C. Matthews Landowner
Kay McElroy Landowner
Jerry Casey Businessman-Pilot

Robert Anderson Airplane Owner
Robert Noffsinger, Jr. Landowner
C. L. Bauer Interested Citizen
Betty Ehrlich Landowner
Mr. Robert Martin read portions of a letter regarding the airport
issue from airport-user Curt Cornils. General discussion followed
the presentations.

MEETING MINUTES: Due to a temporary absence of Mr. Waldo between
3 P.M. and 3:45 P.M. , Gary Kampel ordered the January 3, 1980
meeting minutes approved.
There being no further business, the meeting was ajourned at 3:50 P.M.
