Geisert This request is for a mobile home(%) to be used as: temporary use during medical hardship Legal Description of Parcel : part of the NE1, Section 5, T1N, R68W Location: Two (2) miles northeast of Erie and north of Carmacar Ranchettes The Department of Planning Services staff has reviewed this request and recommends that the request be denied for the reasons: WILL WILL NOT Be compatible with the Weld County Comprehensive xx Plan. xx Be compatible with the surrounding area. Be in harmony with the character of the neighborhood. xx Adversely affect the immediate area . xx Be adequately served by water and sewage disposal xx facilities . Adversely affect the general health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the area and the xx County. COMMENTS: The person with the medical condition, Henry P. Geisert, resides on the property with Dorothy Geisert. The Department of Planning Services staff feels that Mrs. Geisert would be available in case of a medical emergency. The farm operation on the 3.76 acre parcel does not justify farm labor residing on the property. The Department of Planning Services staff has received several phone calls objecting to this request. March 5, 1982 Norm Carlson Weld County Board of Commissioners 915 10th St. Greeley, CO. 80631 Dear Chairman Carlson: We are citizens of southwestern Weld County, approximately two miles northeast of Erie. We are very concerned about the issuance of zoning permits for mobil homes issued for temporary medical hardships. We believe that privilege is prone to misuse. In particular we are concerned about a recent request by a Robert P. Geisert. He does not own or presently live on the property that the permit would beei applandied owner Robert proposes to aid his father, Henry Paul of the property, put up hay and feed cattle. The property is only 4 acres, more or less, with two cows and two calves and could only be construde as a hobby farm not necessary for livelyhood. Henry is in his 50' s and holds a full time machinist job in Boulder. Under the circumstances, we believe a temporary medical hardship permit is unwarranted. March 1, 1982 Dear Weld County Planning Commission: Please accept this letter for your consideration at the public hearing (ZPNH-545) on March 10 regarding a request by Robert P. Geisert for a zoning permit for a mobile home. I would like to reiterate statements I made at a previous hearing (Beierle) of this type. The Beierle request evi- dently has set a precedent in this locality. The issue raised was centered around the definition of "temporary" . The Planning Commission agreed to periodically re-evaluate the adequacy of utilities and the basis of the medical hardship. I believe that all alternatives, such as accommodation of the hardship situation within the existing housing, should be exhausted before a trailer is allowed. Any burden of a convenience nature should rest with the party making the request for a zoning permit and not with other members of the community. Thank you for this opportunity to re-express my concerns. Sincerely, . Harvey S.
