HomeMy WebLinkAbout830997.tiff -• RESOLUTION RE: PAYMENT OF WELD COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICES VOLUNTEER STIPENDS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Weld County utilizes volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) to staff positions for the Weld County Ambulance Service on an on going basis in lieu of hiring additional paid staff, and WHEREAS, volunteers work a normal 24-hour shift or two volunteers share a 24-hour shift, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Ambulance Service wishes to encourage voluntarism and insure that the volunteers do not suffer a personal financial loss due to their volunteer service for Weld County Ambulance Service, and WHEREAS, staff has recommended to the Board that volunteers filling a continuous 24-hour shift receive a $45.00 stipend and volunteers splitting a continuous 24-hour shift into a minimum of twelve continuous hours receive a $22.50 stipend, and WHEREAS, staff has recommended that all paid Weld County Ambulance Service volunteers must meet the training requirements and skills on the check list as established by the Director of the Weld County Ambulance Service, and WHEREAS, staff has recommended that all Weld County Ambulance Service volunteers be provided one Weld County Ambulance Service uniform shirt, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners believe that the payment of a stipend to Weld County Ambulance Service Volunteers and the provision of a uniform shirt will encourage volunteer participation and be in the best interest of Weld County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, hereby authorizes Weld County Ambulance Service (EMT) volunteers to be provided one Weld County Ambulance Service uniform shirt for use while serving as a Weld County Ambulance Service Volunteer. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all Weld County Ambulance Service (EMT) volunteers meeting the training requirements and completing the skills on the check list established by the Director of the Weld County Ambulance Service shall receive a $45.00 stipend when working a continuous 24-hour shift as an 830997 EMT or $22.50 when splitting a continuous 24-hour shift into a minimum of twelve continuous hours. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Weld County Ambulance Service shall submit an input voucher for volunteer stipend payments to Accounting monthly for payment to the individual volunteers. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED this resolution shall be effective March 16, 1983, and serve as authorization for Weld County Ambulance Service volunteers stipend payments by Weld County as more fully set forth above until further action by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado. The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 14th day of March, A.D. , 1983.
