The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, September 13, 2004, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Chair- EXCUSED
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem
Commissioner M. J. Geile - EXCUSED
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of September8, 2004, as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $50,882.64. Commissioner Long moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
ISLAN D GROVE REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTER:Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,stated this
agreement will provide domestic violence and anger management services primarily to adults participating
in child welfare services, and the term is August 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005. Commissioner Vaad
moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chairto sign. Seconded by Commissioner Long,the
motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner Long reported that one item indicated on preliminary reports after the full implementation
of the Colorado Business Management System(CBMS)is Help Desk Tickets,which indicate the problems
or questions which occur that require further contact with the State. He said it was interesting to see which
counties were prepared for the system to come on-line, and it is clearly indicated by the reports.
Commissioner Long commended Ms. Griego and her staff for their preparation,which was demonstrated
by the lesser number of problems and questions,and it was glaringly obvious that other counties were not
as well prepared.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
