Dear Sir and Ms. Harding:
In this letter I am notifying you of an accident that I had about 10:00 a.m. this morning
while attempting to enter your building at the captioned address. I was walking west on
10th Street with a younger girl, trying to locate an office she was looking for. I looked up
momentarily as a woman was exiting your building. The woman's name was Linda
Spangler. Just then I tripped on a raised portion of the sidewalk on 10th Street a few yards
from the entrance to your building. I was airborne and landed severely hard on my face
and body. Ms. Spangler and the young girl had to help me up from a very hard fall which
scratched my eyeglasses and my face hit the sidewalk causing a slight bruising to my
cheek, nose, and chin. I received a sidewalk scrape/burn on my left hand (little finger) as
well as a very sore left upper thigh; my knees also got bumped and I felt a hard jolt to my
neck, arms and back. It shook me up for about four hours. During that time, I went to the
Urgent Care at Greeley Medical Clinic for examination, treatment and X-rays. Dr. Majors
ordered a Tetnus shot for me and examined me quite well, then sent me to get X-rays in
that building. There didn't appear to be any broken bones, although Dr. Majors said my
left cheekbone seemed thin. It certainly did stir up any arthritis I had in my body.
As you can imagine, I have been extremely sore all over my body this evening. I am
concerned that I might not sleep well tonight, as I am hurting badly from the fall. I need
a new pair of glasses and probably a couple weeks to get over the accident. My husband,
Billy M. Weckwerth, took me up to your office. Because of a Tornado Alert, all
personnel from the County Commissioner's Office were absent except Mr. Lee D.
Morrison, Assistant County Attorney. Mr. Morrison accompanied us to the location
where I fell. He looked it over. My husband will be taking pictures of that location. I
would appreciate a response from you as soon as possible.
Very truly yours,/ I tk eARAditlite/y Christine Weckwerth
