HomeMy WebLinkAbout20041907 RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 11.000, COMPUTER AND EQUIPMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Department of Social Services has presented revisions to the Operations Manual, Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures, to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, for consideration and approval, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said revisions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the revisions to the Operations Manual, Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures for the Department of Social Services be, and hereby are, approved. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of July, A.D., 2004. Griego, Director, Social Services lit RE: Revision to Section 11.000, Computer and�ment Policies and P quipment Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual Enclosed for Board approval is a revision to Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual. This policy was reviewed at the Board's Work Session of June 14, 2004. The revision is to revise the section regarding E-470 transponders. Section 11.200.1, Access to Required Procedures in the Use of E-470 Transponders, was revised to allow for the use of additional transponders. If you have any questions, please telephone me at extension 6510. • 2004-1907 Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures 11.100.4 Loss of Equipment A An employee will sign for and be issued a Palm Pilot/Cell phone. B. Any time a Palm Pilot/Cell Phone is lost or damaged,the situation will be judged on a case-by-case basis with regard to whether the employee will be issued another Palm Pilot/Cell Phone and/or will be required to reimburse the County for the lost or damaged equipment. 11.100.5 Personal Use Palm Pilot/Cell phones are to be used for county business. However, if an employee goes over the time limits for work related calls, the employee may have to justify the time spent,but would not be expected to reimburse the county. Limited use of the cell phone for personal calls is permitted,but discouraged, and the employee maybe subject to charges if those calls extend the contract limit per month. Employees are expected to keep up with their use and the plan requirements so that the county gets the most efficient use of the time purchased. 11.100.6 Confidential Information The Employee is responsible for confidential information stored or input into the Palm Pilot/Cell Phone and will make every effort to protect this information through the use of passwords or other required measures. The Employee will adhere to the confidential policies of Section 3-12-10, Article XII,Weld County Employee Personnel Policy Handbook, Ordinance 118-Q, as amended, and other applicable State rules and regulations. 11.200 Policy on Use of E-470 Transponders Added 9/25/02 The Department's transponders are for the use of Child Welfare caseworkers and supervisors who need to see clients/providers as required by County and State rules, and are located in the south regions of Colorado. 11.200.1 Access to Required Procedures in the Use of E-470 Transponders Added 9/25/02 Revised 7/04 E-470 transponders will be available in the Business Office for checkout. The transponders will be used to minimize the use of Interstate 25 and to eliminate the use of the tolls on E-470. A. Transponders will be available for checkout. B. Only three vehicles can be assigned to a transponder. C. The transponders will be checked out on a first come first serve basis. Hello
