Home My WebLink About20041763.tiff RESOLUTION RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 38 BETWEEN I-25 AND WELD COUNTY ROAD 13 FOR APPROXIMATELY NINE WEEKS, DAYTIME HOURS ONLY, FOR INSTALLATION OF WATER LINE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.: "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting signs thereon. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado,deems it necessary to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 38 between 1-25 and Weld County Road 13 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective June 29, 2004,for approximately nine weeks,daytime hours only,for installation of water line,and further,that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. 2004-1763 EG0024 til' :�w an,„,, D'7 J®-py ROAD CLOSURE -WCR 38 PAGE 2 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of June, A.D., 2004. FROM: Ted Eyl COLORADO SUBJECT: Road Closure WCR 38 from 125 to WCR 13 This is a road closure to be submitted to the BOCC for the 6/28/04 agenda. Central Weld County Water is requesting the closure of WCR 38 From I 25 to WCR 13 for the installation of a 36" Water line. The road will be closed for two months, starting 6/29/04 to 8/30/04. The road will be shut down only during the day time hours, it will be open nights and weekends. The only time it will be closed full time will be when they bore under the rail road tracks, this will be a two to three day period. - They ADT counts for road WCR 38 is 107 (10/2/03) and the detour route, WCR 36 as of 9/26/02 had a ADT count of 42. Central Weld County Water has agreed to place dust suppressant down on the two miles of detour route WCR 36 from I 25 to WCR 13.
