Home My WebLink About20052530.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE TWENTY-FOUR AMENDMENTS OF AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE RESIDENTIAL CHILD CARE FACILITY SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with twenty-four Amendments of Agreement to Purchase Residential Child Care Facility Services between the County of Weld,State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and the following providers, commencing June 30, 2005, and ending September 31, 2005, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said amendments, and 1. Griego, Director, Social Services RE: Amendments of Agreement to Purchase Residential Child Care Facilities Services with Various Vendors Enclosed for Board approval are Amendments of Agreement to Purchase Residential Child Care Facilities (RCCF) Services between the Weld County Department of Social Services (Department) and various vendors. The Amendment was reviewed at the Board's Work Session held on June 27, 2005. The Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy&Financing began negotiations in late June 2005 regarding funding formulas to include reduced Medicaid funding for 24-hour care facilities including Residential Treatment Centers (RTCs), Residential Child Care Facilities(RCCFs) and to finalize rate negotiations with Child Placement Agencies(CPAs). The Amendment provides for a 90 day extension to end September 30, 2005, with all other provisions in the original Agreement to remain the same. The vendors include: 1. WHEREAS,the Colorado State Department of Social Services,hereinafter called"State Department" is • authorized to provide social services to individuals and families of individuals through its agents,County Departments of Social Services, and WHEREAS,County is authorized to purchase certain services for eligible children under State Department rules,and • WHEREAS, certain Federal and State changes regarding Medicaid and related rates are occurring and have not been resolved;and WHEREAS,the stability of placements of children and youth under the guardianship of the County is vital; and WHEREAS,County and the Contractor wishes to amend its original agreement by extending the duration of the Original Agreement entered into on , 2004;and WHEREAS, Contractor is licensed ads-aa Residential Child Care Facility. NOW THEREFORE,it is hereby agreed that in consideration of the mutual Undertakings County and Contractor agree as follows: I. The term of the Agreement shall be extended from June 30, 2005,to September 312005. 2. This Amendment,together with the original Agreement, constitutes the entire understanding among the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof,and may not be changed or modified except as stated in the original Agreement.
