The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County
Home Rule Charter, Tuesday, February 15, 2005, 6:30 p.m., at Weld County Centennial
Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by President Chip Marks. Vice
President Dwaine Kurtz, Councilman Tom Pettit, Councilman Douglas Rademacher,
and Councilman Gene Stille were present, constituting a quorum of the members. Also
present: Ripley Casdorph, Sheriff John Cooke, Sheriff Detective Daren Ford, and Bev
Thomas, council secretary. •
RECOGNITION OF RETIRING COUNCIL MEMBERS MARTIN & SANDER: Vice
President Dwaine Kurtz made a motion to adopt resolutions 147 recognizing retiring
Councilman Mitchell Martin and Resolution 148 recognizing retiring Councilman William
Sander. The motions were seconded and each of them carried unanimously. The
resolutions were read aloud and copies of them were presented to Mr. Martin and Mr.
Sander. Council President Chip Marks also presented to the retiring council members
engraved plaques in appreciation for their service to Weld County.
REVIEW PROGRAM: Sheriff John Cooke, with assistance of Detective Daren Ford,
presented a timeline of the events summarizing the county's 2004 computer security
breach.
AGENDA ADDITIONS/APPROVAL: The agenda was approved by consent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Councilman Douglas Rademacher made a motion to
approve the January 18, 2005 council minutes. The motion was seconded and carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Ms. Tracy Trentlage identified herself as a taxpayer in Weld
County. She addressed her concerns to the council regarding Affiliated Computer
Services (ACS), the company contracted to provide the county's computer services.
Council members asked questions of Ms. Trentlage and after her presentation
discussed her concerns. Council President Chip Marks stated the council has not made
any indictment of ACS and has not taken an official position on the county's computer
security breach.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
2005 Council Meeting Review Programs
The following 2005 Council meeting review programs were confirmed:
March Councilman Tom Pettit - Elections Department
April Councilman Gene Stille -Assessor's Office
May Program Planner - Vice President Dwaine Kurtz
NEW BUSINESS:
Councilmen Pettit, Rademacher, and Stille indicated their intention to attend the March
14 Elected Officials meeting. Councilman Kurtz could attend the meeting if others were
unable to attend.
Council members noted the correspondence, and there were no coordinator reports.
Payment of Bills
Councilman Gene Stille made a motion to approve the bills as listed:

The motion was seconded and carried.
