RE: Stoneham Signage
Dear Ms. Dack
Thank you for your letter to Commissioner Dave Long expressing concern for the safety of the residents of
your community and missing street signs.
Our Public Works Department has inspected this location and identified the action necessary to correct the
problem you identified and all signs in the Stoneham community. Depending on the timeliness of utility
locates, you should see new signs installed throughout the area by the end of September.
If you have further questions on this issue, please contact Mr. Jeff Jerome, Public Works Operations
Division Manager, at 970-356-4000, Extension 3750.
Sincerely,
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Dear Sirs:
I am writing about a safety concern. In Stoneham we have several street signs that are
missing. I am mainly concerned about the one at the corner of Flint Avenue and Agate
Street. There are three elderly people living alone on this street, myself included.
When my husband had a heart attack, there was a delay in getting to our home because the
Emergency personnel couldn't find our street address. My house number is on my home
on the Flint Avenue side of my home. There is a sign, badly in need of repair, at the other
end of the block at Flint Ave. and Slate St. but this is several houses away from me. My
neighbor has recently needed medical attention as well.
The other street signs that are missing are at the corners of Granite Ave. and Slate St.,
Granite Ave. and Agate St, Hwy. 14 and Granite Ave., Marble Ave. and Slate St. and of
course the sign at the corner of Agate St. and Flint Ave.
Your help in placing street signs at these areas would be greatly appreciated by the
residents as well as emergency personnel.
Sincerely ® 2n, 42 t
