RE: Emergency Streambank Protection near Windsor, Colorado
Gentlemen:
An inspection of the Emergency Streambank Protection Project constructed to protect County Road 27
and Bridge 27-62b on the Cache la Poudre River was recently completed.
Overall, the project was in fair condition. It was noted that the project is losing riprap at the waters edge,
especially at Sta 7+35. At Sta 8+50 the river is eroding the soil along the windrow refusal and the refusal is
starting to lose rock. It is recommended that this Riprap and soil be replaced to maintain the integrity of the
project. It is also recommended that woody vegetation control be initiated.
The US Army Corps of Engineers considers the life span of a section 14 to be 20 years. This section 14 has
reached its 20-year mark, for this reason the US Army Corps of Engineers will no longer inspect this project.
However we do encourage you to keep the project in good condition.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Roy Ranisate of this office at 303-979-4120.
Sincerely,
IACX `VA.I5 r"
