We want to supplement the application to include the following uses as described in paragraph 5 of the USR Questionnaire: General description of the proposed use: It will be used in as part of the Martinez' landscaping business: for the storage of materials, vehicles and equipment used in the business. There is a small residence on the property that is leased as a residence for no more than three unrelated persons. There is also an area of the property, adjacent to the residence, which is fenced in order to screen the materials and vehicles from view. Employees would come to the property at the beginning of the workday to load equipment and supplies. They park their cars on the property, load equipment on trailers and trucks and leave for various worksites. The workers then return at the end of the day, to unload and park equipment, get in their cars and go home. a. How many people will use the site. There are several employees year round, and at the height of the season in July and August last year, there were 16 seasonal employees. The period of time that any of them work at the site is typically short: at the beginning and end of each workday. There will be times when a few employees would work at the site for a number of hours doing work at the yard: clean up, organization of materials, and other things. But this type of work is unusual. For the most part, all employees are at landscaping jobs off the property, elsewhere in the County and in Boulder County. b. How many employees are proposed to be employed at this site. Not more than 1 person would be working at the site all day long. But this would be unusual. f. What kind (type, size weight) of vehicles will access this site and how often. Currently, 3-1 ton trucks, 1-6 ton truck and a Page 2 small loader leave the site in the morning and return at the end of day. Often the trucks pull trailers with equipment. However, Mr. Martinez would like the approved use to permit expansion of the business to a total of: 3-6 ton trucks 4-1 ton trucks 4 trailers for these trucks 3-small loaders 1-backhoe Please let me know if there is any respect in which the Martinez' application is incomplete, so that we can provide you with the required documents and submissions right away. Our request would permit the following, pursuant to paragraph 5 (f) of the USR Questionnaire: 1-6 ton truck 1-1 ton truck 3 trailers pulled by these trucks 2-small loaders I am attaching photographs showing the 6 ton truck and one of the small loaders, so that the Commissioners and staff can see the scale of the equipment. This affidavit relates to Weld County USR 1470, a Use Review Application of Jose and Natalia Martinez. 2. On Saturday, May 8, 2004, at 6:10 PM, I spoke with the neighbor to the west of the Martinez property: Mr. Bruce Harris, whose phone number is (303) 772-6752 and whose address is 14480 Weld County Road 1. 3. I asked Mr. Harris if he knew about the Martinez application. He replied that he did know about it, because Natalia Martinez had given him a letter explaining the permit they are requesting from the County. 4. I asked him if he had any concerns about the application. He responded, "I don't care what they do with their property, as long is it don't raise my taxes." I asked him if he would be willing to sign a letter stating that that is his position. He said, "Nope. I won't sign anything." But he reiterated that he does not object to what they are asking of the County. 5. I invited him to come to the hearing on May 18, but he said he would not come because he is a trucker and is out of town most of the time.
