RE: ESTABLISH CHANGE FUND FOR DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENT, SOUTH COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from the Department of Public Health and
Environment that a Change Fund in the amount of$200.00 be established for use at the Southwest
Weld Administrative Building, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Administration and the Controller have
recommended approval of said request, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it
advisable and in the best interests of Weld County to approve said request.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that a Change Fund in the amount of$200.00 be,and hereby is,established for
the Department of Public Health and Environment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 17th day of August, A.D., 2005.

SUBJECT: Change Fund for Health Department
In October of 2003, the Health Department asked for and received permission from Claud Hanes
to transfer the $200 assigned as a change fund to the south county Health Department site to the
Administration Division at the north site. This was requested because the south county site was
not being staffed every day, and the change fund was needed at the North Site.
Services are now being provided at the south site every Monday through Friday. Therefore, we
are requesting a change fund of$200 for that location. We are finding very few of our clients
pay for their clinical services with checks, but a considerable number of them pay with $100 and
$50 bills. These payments rapidly deplete the smaller bills on hand and our ability to make
change. As the south site will only have one office technician, this person will not be able to
leave the office to go to a different department to get change.
