Box 758 Greeley, Colorado 80632 COLORADO September 6, 2005 Mrs. Carolyn Holmes 23140 CR 50 La Salle, CO. 80645 RE: WCR 50 Dear Mrs. Holmes Thank you for your letter expressing concern for the safety of the driving public on WCR 50. Our Public Works Department has inspected this location and identified the action necessary to mitigate the problem you referenced. As you noted, the problem is with the downhill grade where it intersects with your driveway creating a sight distance problem and a steeper slope with your driveway. Corrective action to adjust the roads' elevation in that vicinity has been scheduled for this month. I apologize for any inconvenience that this maintenance activity has caused and appreciate your patience as we work to improve the conditions in Weld County. Sincerely, BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS t William H. Jerke, Chair Weld County Commission August 23 , 2005 Mr. Bill Jerke Weld County Commissioner 915 Tenth Creeley, CO 80631 Dear Mr. Jerke , Its been a couple of months since you returned my call concerning CR 50. You indicated that you would check it out , and I really thought you would, but I haven't heard anything. I don't know who we need to talk to (I thought the county commissioners) , but we definitely have a probleri:. which county personnel can't seem to see. IsTy husband mentioned that when the county was paving RD. 47 , he was talking to Dale Elliott , and Mr. Elliott could see there was a problem with the road. Dennis Kraft (sp ?) , a grader operator 'mows what he ' s doir'.g, and my husband thinks he might be able to get the road back to standard. Each time Jeff Barker grades the road , it gets a little bit higher -- we can't even beck our camper trailer into the drive anymore because it's getting so high. It doesn't do any good to say anything to Jeff's super- visor. I find him to be very inept at his job. He doesn't seem to understand grade , i.f he did , he could instruct Jeff in the proper way. All-in-all , the problems stated in r:y letter of :ay 13 , 2003, to Rob Vasden still exist and have even gotten worse. This letter serves as notification that if any person is injured or killed coming in or leaving our drive , that the county will be liable for not doing anything to correct the situation, and any survivors will know whom to name in a law suit.
