RE: APPROVAL OF HUD, SECTION VIII HOUSING PLAN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a representative from the Weld County Housing Auth-
ority presented to the Board of County Commissioners a request
to determine whether there is a need in Weld County for twenty
(20) dwelling units for the elderly, handicapped and low income
families, as explained in the request letter attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that such a need does
exist in Weld County and deems it in the best interest of Weld
County to advise HUD of said determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that a need does exist in
Weld County for twenty (20) dwelling units for the elderly, handi-
capped and low income families and that HUD shall be advised of
same.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of
August, A.D. , 1982.

Dear Mr. Martin:
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has received and
is considering an application for housing assistance in your
jurisdiction for 20 units under the Section 8 Existing Housing
Program to be administered by the Weld County Housing Authority
The Public Housing Agency (PHA) is requesting assistance for the
following dwelling units:
Ten (10) one Bedroom Units for Elderly and Handicapped households, and
Ten (10) two Bedroom units for Family households.
Pursuant to Section 213(c) of the Housing and Community Development Act
of 1974, we must determine whether or not there is a need for such -
nousing assistance, taking into consideration any applicable State
housing Assistance Plan, and that there is or will be available in the
area, public facilitities and services adequate to serve the housing
proposed to be •assisted. An application may be approved only if our
determination is in the affirmative.
'We invite you to submit to us all comments or information you or your
unit of government deem relevant to our determination. While we will
not be bound by any such comments or information, all relevant comments
or information you provide us will be considered.

We will consider only comments or informattori from you received
by us no later than 30 days after the date on which you receive this
letter. If your unit of government does not intend to submit any
comments or information, please notify us as soon as possible so
that we may expedite the making of our determination.
