RE: APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL TO CONSTRUCT COMMUNICATIONS TOWER
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department put out bid request 468-82 concerning
the erection of a fifty foot antenna tower for the Communications Center with
the bids to be received on November 4, 1982, and
WHEREAS, the purchasing agent and director of Communications advised the
Board of County Commissioners that no bids were received, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners authorized the Director of
Communications and Director of Purchasing to negotiate a proposal with a
vendor who would be willing to erect the fifty foot antenna tower for Weld
County, and
WHEREAS, Weld County has received a proposal from GRB Construction
Company of Denver, Colorado, which would accomplish the work for the quote of
$7,085.00, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Communications has advised the Board of County
Commissioners that the proposal as submitted by GRB Construction Company in
the amount of $7,085.00 is competitive and will satisfy the needs of Weld
County and accomplish the erection of the fifty foot communications tower.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County that they hereby approve the proposal by GRB Construction Company
in the amount of $7,085.00 for the erection of a fifty foot communications
tower.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the negotiated bid is approved after having solicited
competitive bids per the State statute and Home Rule Charter and not receiving
any bids, thus requiring a negotiated contract with a vendor willing to
provide the services at a competitive price.
