Attention: Bette Roden
Purchasing Director
Weld County
In regards to your bid sheet concerning Deep Steam Cleaning.
In reference to your general specifications, conditions,
and information; we presently operate 3, Model 1200 SteamWay
Turbo Matic in Truck Mount units. They are capable of cleaning
500 to 1000 sq. ft. per hour of carpet per unit, depending on the
type of carpet and the amount of furniture that we have to move
during the operation. Our machines are totally adjustable in
temperature from cold water to 260 degrees farenheit. In pressure
they are adjustable from 50 lbs pressure per sq. inch to 850 lbs
pressure per sq. inch. Our vacuum is measured on mercury pull
per inch and will pull 151 inches of mercury pull at the end of
250 ft. of hose in comparison an average vacuum sweeper will pull
approximately 3'i to 4 inches of mercury pull at the end of 10 ft.
of hose. .
The Turbo Matic is the latest equipment made at SteamWay
International Equipment Co, located in Denver, Colo. They are
a nationwide company with the factory located at 3020 East 43rd
Ave Denver, Colo. They have been in existence since the later
part of 1967 and since have become one of the top line carpet and
upholstery cleaner manufacturers in the U. S. Living so close
to the factory as we do we are fortunate. Because we have never in
the years we've been in business been down for repair more than
1 working day. Our company also started in Greeley as SteamWay
of Greeley in 1967 and have grown right along with SteamWay
International. I purchased SteamWay of Greeley in 1974 and have
since then kept a complete line of their latest equipment on hand.
Also along with our 3 Turbo Matic in Truck Mount units, we have
available 7 large air movers for quick drying purposes on the
carpets that are used around the clock. Also a large commercial
pile lifter is available in the heavy traffic areas where needed,
also sold by SteamWay International.
I am sure that we will have no problems in meeting and
exceeding all of your specifications.
Our company is also a member in good standing of the P.C.U.C.A.
(Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Association) . A
nation wide association which puts on schools and seminars
periodically for its members, to bring them up on the latest of
all fibers and chemicals and methods available, I (David Grauberger)
am presently serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors
of the P.C.U.C.A. and am active in putting on the classes we offer.

In going through our contract with 7ele Jounty in regrres to the
garnet cleanin-, I have noticed that it is due to come un in July.
In spite of the rise in costs of our supplies and labor, we are
willing to continue for another year contract through June 30th of
1983 at the same cost to the county as our present contract, if we
can go without going out for bid. Vie feel we have completes the
worst cleaning being the first cleaning, and each cleaning after
that the carpets should look better.
The prices on our present contract are as follows:
'o.06 (over 5, 000 sq. ft. per call )
:10.07 (under 5,003 sq. ft. per call )
Also available for the areas that you might request it, is our
carpet muard for an additional cost of X0.025 per sq. ft. This
is an option to be used at your request for whatever areas you
think you might want it . This option is not a necessity but is
reccom.:,ended by our firm on your light colored carpets which have
a heavy traffic.
The only chanme would be on the wool carpeting in the court house.
It is necessary to apply a neutralizing agent after our cleaning
to hold the natural oils in the natural fibers. This was not men-
tioned on our present contract but has been applied at our expense.
In the future contract we would like to be able to pass this cx-
pense on to the contractee. The cost of the neutralizing agent
used is SO. 02 per so. ft .
To sunmerize our letter I will list all costs to continue our
present contract for one more year.
$0.06 (over 5, 030 so. ft. per call)
$0 .07 (under 5 ,000 sq. ft . per call)
Auditional $0.02 per sq. ft. for wool carpets in the court house.
Optional 50.025 per so, ft . for any carpet guard applied at
contractees request .
; 11 other snotters, pre—scrubbing and solutions used are in—
cluded in above prices.
I want to thank you for your business in 1981-1982 ana look for—
ware to your response for 1982-1983 . It was a pleasure doing
work for Vela County and I would like to say that all of your
employees were very cooperative.
