To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Shanon Chalmers and after recently being made aware of the proposal to construct a horse
arena in Weld County, I would like to voice my opinion on this imperative matter. I truly believe that
this would be detrimental to Weld County and the surrounding area. I understand the need to bring
revenue into the community at hand, but I truly feel that both rodeos and horse-racing are outdated and
cruel in nature. Animals should not have to be tortured to gain revenue for the county, city, or state.
There are many alternative ideas that should be reviewed.I believe that it is our duty, as Coloradoans, to
promote humane standards. Therefore, I wish to oppose the construction of the proposed rodeo arena
and horse racing track. I would like to thank you for your consideration regarding this matter.
