Dacono Sanitation District was organized in 1959 according to State Statutes for
the purpose of providing for the sanitary sewer collection system and treatment of
the effluent at a lagoon/ponds system site.
Areas to be served are within the boundaries of the Dacono Sanitation District and
by contract with the Weld County Tri-Area Sanitation District.

Re: NFRWQPA Areawide Water Quality Plan
Dear Mr. DuBois,
Reference is made to your letter dated October 20, 2004 in reply to this District's letter of
September 29, 2004.
Regarding the service area expansion to the east for about 2 '/z miles, this District is
proceeding with planning to serve this area. Including this change in the 2005 update is
satisfactory to us as long as there are no complications with our treating it as though it
is presently within our service area.
Regarding the areas in Sections 6 and 7 on the southwest side of this District's service
area, we are very encouraged by St. Vrain Sanitation District's letter dated October 7,
2004 (copy enclosed). The two districts will be able to work this out for the general
benefit of the area at such time it is needed in the light of the then prevailing
circumstances.

Dear Mr. Renner:
We are in receipt of your letter of September 29, 2004, on the subject of the service area for
Dacono Sanitation District (DSD) in the Areawide Water Quality Management Plan (208 Plan).
In your letter you asked about,two adjustments to the service area for DSD, one to the east of the
District's service area and the other on the southwest side of the service area.
The service area expansion to the east for about 2 %7 miles can be accomplished through an
amendment to the 208 Plan or can be included within the next update of the plan in 2005. It
appears that it was omitted from the 2003 Plan update through an oversight on our part. Please
let us know if there is a need to process an amendment at this time, and we will be willing to do
so.
As to the area in Sections 6 & 7 on the southwest side of DSD's service area, please refer to my
letter of January 9, 2004 (copy enclosed). The Saint Vrain Sanitation District (SVSD) was
opposed at that time to having that area shown as being part of their service area. I spoke with
their Manager, Steve Beck, today, and he said they still hold that.position. If an agreement for
service to those properties could be worked out through the IGA between your two districts, that
may be the best solution. We do not feel that a plan amendment concerning that area would be
considered favorably under current conditions.
Please let us know how you would like to proceed on these matters, and we will be glad to assist
you in any way possible.
