This report summarizes the activities of the Weld County Council during the first quarter of the calendar year 2005. January 20, 2005 -Weld County Centennial Center • Councilman Chip Marks was elected the 2005 Council President and Councilman Dwaine Kurtz was elected the 2005 Council Vice President. • Weld County Commissioner Rob Masden presented a review of Weld County government in 2004. • The council set as its 2005 meeting times the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Weld County Centennial Center located at 915 10th Street in Greeley, CO. The April 2005 and August 2005 • council meetings will be held at the Southwest Administration Building located at 4209 WCR 24 ''A, Longmont, CO. . • The council assigned members' 2005 coordinator and elected • official assignments and designated review program planners for each month. February 15, 2005 —Weld County Centennial Center • The council recognized retiring council members Mitchell Martin and William Sander for their service to Weld County. • • Sheriff John Cooke and Detective Daren Ford presented a timeline of the events summarizing the county's 2004 computer security • breach. • Mrs. Tracy Trentlage of Greeley identified herself as a taxpayer in Weld County. She addressed her concerns to the council regarding Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) and their role in the 2004 county computer security breach. • March 15, 2005 -Weld County Centennial Center • Weld County Elections Manager Rudy Santos presented a review of Weld County's 2004 elections. Council members complimented Mr. Santos and his staff on the work they do to inform the public and facilitate fair and impartial elections in Weld County. 2005-1274 Weld County Council Report to the People April 19,2005 Page 2 of 2 Commissioners and County Council members. Council members expressed their desire to assure council representation at these briefings through 2005 and to continue their vigilance in reviewing the county's computer services. • Councilmen voiced their approval of the water leasing arrangements approved by the Board.of County Commissioners in November 2004 and recommended the acquisition of surface water by these means for the county's future. Weld County Council meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Weld County Centennial Center located at 915 10th Street in Greeley, CO.
