RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF PRIVACY OFFICERS UNDER HEALTH INSURANCE
PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,by Resolution#2003-0902,the Board of County Commissioners approved the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HI PAA)Compliance Plan for Weld County for
Dental,Vision, and Flexible Spending Plans,and the HIPAA Compliance Plan for the Departments
of Public Health and Environment, Paramedic Services, and Human Services as health care
providers, and
WHEREAS,said HIPAA Compliance Plans require HIPAA Privacy Officers be appointed,and
WHEREAS, Cheryl Weinmeister, HIPAA Privacy Officer, has terminated her position as
nurse at the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, and
WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Wallace has recommended that Linda Henry, Director, Department
of Community Health, be appointed to replace Cheryl Weinmeister, as the Department's HIPAA
Privacy Officer,
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board that Linda Henry be, and hereby is,
appointed the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the Weld County Department of Public Health and
Environment's HIPAA Plan.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
