HomeMy WebLinkAbout20051789.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE REVISION TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 7.000, PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Revision to Section 7.000, Personnel Policies and Procedures for the Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual, and WHEREAS,after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said revision, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado,ex-officio Board of Social Services,that the Revision to Section 7.000, Personnel Policies and Procedures for the Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual be, and hereby is, approved. Griego,Director, Social Services , t` CL i, RE: Revision to Section 7.000,Personnel Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual Enclosed for Board approval is an addition to Section 7.000, Personnel Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual.This addition was reviewed at the Board's Work Session of June 13, 2005. The addition is Section 7.014, Employee Personal Cell Phone Use Policy.The Department policy will limit the use of personal cell phones in staff working areas while providing services to clients and provide guidelines to all staff members. If you have any questions,please telephone me at extension 6510. 2005-1789 7.014 Employee Personal Cell Phone Use Policy Added 6/05 Use of personal cells phones during business hours is to be kept to an absolute minimum. The Department has a responsibility to provide effective public service. Employees are encouraged to use break and lunch times to make all personal calls. A. The following policies are issued as means of ensuring that Department business is conducted effectively: l. Employee personal cells phones must be turned off or on a vibrate mode (or lowest possible ring volume if the phone has no vibrate mode) during employee scheduled work time. 2. Employees may accept personal cell phone calls that are of an emergency nature while conducting business with clients. For all other situations, personal cell phones must be routed to a voice mail system during the time the employee is conducting business with clients. 3. When answering a personal cell phone call while at work that is not an emergency, the employee will limit time spent on the call, or text messaging, to less than two minutes. 4. Employees may receive and make brief calls, or text messaging, on their personal cell phone during work time that are of an emergency nature, such as a family medical emergency. • B. All other personal cell phone calls, including text messaging, will be made during the employees break and lunch time, outside of staff working areas. Hello
