Np -6- To Weld County Planning Dept. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself,Ruth Bucy,and explain my hobby which is raising and showing Schipperke(skipper-key)dogs. It became necessary for me to relocate to Camfield for several reasons. I have been active in raising, showing,& training my dogs for over 15 years . This is an endeavor I hope to continue on a more limited basis. Schipperkes or"Skips"as we fondly call the breed,are small, affectionate, loyal energetic, and alert breed of dog. They usually weigh between 12- 181bs and stand about 10-14 inches at the shoulder. A successful show kennel has several dogs in residence at any given time. The dogs in my kennel are of various ages,ranging from pups not quite ready to compete, adults now showing, and retired champions,all of whom are beloved pets and companions. I have a few older dogs that will probably not live more than another year or two. All of these dogs are my personal pets. I have a totally enclosed large back yard approximately 100' by 60' area which is surrounded by a 6' privacy wood fence. Inside this area on the west end I have set up 4 kennel runs on dirt ground at present and hope to use pea gravel in that area eventually. The dogs waste is picked 1-2 times daily and disposed of in a plastic lined heavy paper bag and then put in heavy-duty trash bags and sent for disposal with trash pick up. The waste is stored in a large covered bucket until the weekly trash pick up. I am making every effort to keep the barking&noise to a minimum. All the dogs are put up at night either in the kennel room at the back of garage or in the house with me so not to disturb neighbors' sleep. I hope I will be able to continue with my hobby of raising and showing Schipperkes at this location . I truly do not want to be a problem or disturbance to anyone and strive to be a good neighbor.
