RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 38 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROAD 23 AND
STATE HIGHWAY 60 FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE DAYS, FOR CHIP SEAL PAVING
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof
fora period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project
completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure
establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of
the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,deems it necessary to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads
and any intersections thereof,and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control
devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the
safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 38 between Weld County Road 23
and State Highway 60 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective June 24, 2005, for
approximately three days for Chip Seal Paving Project, and further, that standard official traffic
control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 13th day of June, A.D., 2005.

COLORADO SUBJECT: Road Closure for WCR 38 from WCR 23 to SH 60
This is a road closure to be submitted to the BOCC for the 6/13/05 agenda. Platte Valley Sand and Gravel is
requesting the closure of WCR 38 from WCR 23 to SH 60 for a chip seal paving project. The requested closure is
scheduled to take place starting on June 24, 2005 and go until June 27, 2005.
The detour route for trucks going to Platte Valley Sand and Gravel pit will be WCR 40 from Hwy 60 to WCR 23,
then WCR 23 to WCR 38. WCR 40 from Hwy 60 to WCR 25 has been treated for dust. Platte Valley Sand and
Gravel will apply magnesium chloride to the detour route.
