Jerke, Chair Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem Commissioner David E. Long - EXCUSED Commissioner Robert D. Masden Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick County Attorney, Bruce Barker The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated March 4,2005,and duly published March 9,2005,in the Fort Lupton Press,a public hearing was conducted to obtain public input regarding changing the boundary lines of Commissioner Districts in Weld County, Colorado. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, stated State statute Sections 30-10-306 (2) and (3)and Section 3-2 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter requires a public hearing at least 30 days prior to considering changes to the boundary lines of Commissioner Districts. Mr. Barker referenced Exhibit A which details the proposed modifications to various precincts that correspond to the map marked Exhibit B. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. ChairJerke stated this is a result of rapid population growth in District 2, and the Board is allowed to redistrict every two years. He explained the boundary lines were modified to include more precincts in Districts 1 and 3 which are contiguous with District 2 and share the same interests. Steve Moreno,Clerk and Recorder,stated the Commissioner District boundaries were last modified in September 2001.
