RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR PREMIUM HOLIDAY FOR DEPENDENT COVERAGE OF
HEALTH INSURANCE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County' s self-insured health program has
accumulated substantial reserves due to employee and dependent
efforts to contain health costs, and
WHEREAS, employees paying for dependent coverage have
contributed to the reserve during 1984 , and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County
wishes to share the benefits of the reserve with employees with
dependent coverage who have contributed to its success in 1984 ,
and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Administration has
recommended that a "Premium Holiday" of one month ' s premium for
dependent coverage, amounting to $107 . 60 , be refunded to
employees with dependent coverage since January 1 , 1984 to
accommodate the above desires of the Board of County
Commissioners .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County that a "Premium Holiday" is
declared by the Board for employees with dependent health
coverage since January 1 , 1984 , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Accounting Department is directed to refund as soon as
possible, from the insurance reserve, one month ' s premium of
$107 . 60 to all employees who have paid for dependent coverage in
Weld County since January 1 , 1984 .

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of
November, A.D. , 1984 .
