RE: AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE USED WINTER JACKETS FROM SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, upon request of the Sheriff's Office, the Board of County Commis-
sioners did agree to purchase winter jackets for use by the Weld County deputy
sheriffs in order to have proper clothing for winter conditions and to have
uniform appearance, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff made the request of the Board of County Commissioners
that deputies that had already acquired winter jackets themselves be permitted
to sell them back to the County at a depreciated price of twenty percent (20%)
off for each year owned, based upon the low bid price of $73.40 per jacket or a
depreciation deduction of $14.68 per year, and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to purchase
used equipment only by resolution, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has provided a list of deputies who have
purchased jackets from their own funds with the remaining years of service and
the amount to be reimbursed is on Exhibit "A", a copy of which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that
the Director of Finance and Administration is hereby authorized to reimburse the
named individuals on Exhibit "A" for the amount specified to be reimbursed for
the acquisition of used winter jackets in the Sheriff's Office.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 20th day of January, A.D. , 1982.
