RE: APPROVE AUTHORIZING TREASURER TO CREDIT INTEREST TO CRIME VICTIM
COMPENSATION TRUST FUND (7013) AND VICTIM ASSISTANCE AND LAW
ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND (7014)
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS the Weld County Treasurer credits all earnings on investments of County funds
to the General Fund unless the Board of Weld County Commissioners by resolution authorizes the
payment of interest to a specific fund by resolution, and
WHEREAS, in a review of the Victim Compensation Trust Fund (7013) and Victim
Assistance and Law Enforcement Trust Fund(7014)interest earned from these two funds should
be credited to these funds per State requirements, and
WHEREAS,the Director of Finance and Administration recommends that the Weld County
Treasurer be authorized to credit interest earned on funds in the Victim Compensation Trust Fund
(7013)and Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement Trust Fund(7014)to these respective funds.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that the Weld County Treasurer be, and hereby is, authorized to credit interest to the Victim
Compensation Trust Fund(7013)and Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement Trust Fund(7014)
from earnings on investments from the balances in these funds on a monthly basis,at the average
rate of earnings for all pooled funds.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 10th day of October, A.D., 2005, nunc pro tunc January 1, 2005.

Whereas, the Weld County Treasurer credits all earnings on investments of county funds
to the General Fund unless the Board of Weld County Commissioners by resolution
authorizes the payment of interest to a specific fund by resolution, and
Whereas, in a review of the Victim Compensation Trust Fund (7013) and Victim
Assistance and Law Enforcement Trust Fund (7014) interest earned from these two funds

Whereas the Director of Finance and Administration recommends that the Weld County

Now, therefore be it resolved, that the Board of Weld County Commissioners hereby
authorizes the Weld County Treasurer to credit interest to the Victim Compensation Trust
Fund (7013) and Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement Trust Fund (7014) from
earnings on investments from the balances in these funds monthly at the average rate of
earnings for all pooled funds nunc pro tunc to January 1, 2005.
