Please note the following request for changes to development standards # 8 and
#9:
1. Development Standard #8. Please remove the last sentence.
"The manure storage site shall have a water-tight surface which does not
permit seepage or percolation of manure pollutants into the ground."
The standard should read:
"The applicant shall remove, handle, and stockpile manure from the
livestock area in a manner that will prevent nuisance conditions. The
manure piles shall not be allowed to exist or deteriorate to a condition
that facilitates excessive odors, flies, insect pests, or pollutant runoff. "
2. Development Standard # 9. Please remove the first sentence and
change the first word from the second sentence to read "Dog" instead of
"such."
Animal and feed wastes, bedding, debris and other organic wastes shall be
disposed of so that vermin infestation, odors, disease hazards, and nuisances
are minimized. Such_
The standard should read:
"Dog wastes shall be removed at least weekly from the facility and
disposed by a commercial hauler."
