To Whom It May Concern:
Please consider this an official notification of objection to the rezoning of N2NWR of
Section 16, T8N, R66W of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado.
I own the 320 acres adjacent to the east of this property. My 76 year old mother lives on
the 150 acres adjoining to the northeast. I have been a part of this rural community for
over 50 years, and currently farm this property. It is my desire that this area remain
agricultural in the true sense.
The intent of this property is agricultural and should remain agricultural. It is my concern
that the additional traffic, dust, trash, crime, burden on the infrastructure, 9 additional
septic systems, and infringement upon the native habitat will be detrimental.
Once the rezoning of rural/agricultural land is granted, where does it end? Our current
quality of life is being eroded by the hunger of growth and development. Weld County
needs to embrace the asset of open land and not compromise and bend to the blindness of
development dollars.
If our family farm and rural way of life continues to be encroached upon by future
development, we are strongly considering other alternatives for our land such as gravel
pits and feed lots, which is adjacent to this property.
Thank you for considering my objections to the rezoning of this property. I trust that the
planning committee will give this careful and thoughtful consideration. Through
partnership we can preserve our heritage of agricultural open land by remaining sensitive
to the future impact of our current decisions.
Together, we can be good stewards of the land and take accountability of preserving the
quality of rural life for future generations.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sharon R. Scheller
Land Owner and Concerned Weld County Citizen
