Russell Anson Planning Department Representative, Chuck Cunliffe The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated December 5, 1983, and duly published in the LaSalle Leader on December 8, 1983, a public hearing was conducted for the purpose of considering increased fee schedules concerning fees charged by the Weld County Department of Planning Services for Electrical Permits. Russ Anson, Assistant County Attorney, read this request into the record. Chuck Cunliffe, Planning Department Director, read the Planning Commission recommendation for approval. Mr. Cunliffe further explained that in July, 1983, the State Electrical Board raised their fee schedule. Recently Weld County's fees have been in line with those charged by the State Electrical Board. The proposed fee schedule contains three variations from those of the State Electrical Board, and Mr. Cunliffe discussed those differences, along with the reasons for making those differences. Commissioner Martin moved to approve the new fee schedule for electrical permit fees, to be effective January 1, 1984. Commissioner N. Carlson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Dated the 12 Ova of\\ Secretary December 19 83 \ - E11®RAn®um WIIDCTo Planning Commission Members Date November 29, 1983 COLORADO From Chuck Cunliffe , 1J Electrical Permit Fees subjectAttached are are the proposed Electrical Fees for 1984. These fees basi- cally coincide with the fees charged by the State of Colorado Electrical Board which were increased on July 1, 1983. There are differences which will be explained at the public hearings. County Electrical Inspectors provide the same service as the State Electrical Inspectors do. The fee structure is targeted to simply recover the full costs of the activities being performed. It is the philosophy of Weld County that electrical inspection fees should be fully paid for by the applicant and not subsidized by property taxes, since the applicant generates the need for the inspection costs. I would recommend that the attached electrical permit fees proposed for 1984 be recommended for adoption to become effective January 1, 1984.
