Box 200311 Evans, CO 80620-0311 Dear Mr. Gassel: The voucher your mother held at 1017 9 St. #1 was issued by the Housing Authority of the City of Greeley and not the Weld County Housing Authority. The Greeley Housing Authority has a volunteer board of commissioners appointed by the city. Your letter will be included in the board packets for the May 25, 2005 meeting. These meetings are held at 315 North 11`h Avenue Building B, 12 o'clock noon and the meeting is open to the public. It is the position of the Housing Authority staff that you left your unit while your eviction was pending and informed the Housing Authority by letter. BOX 2003I I I V ANS CO 80620-031 I 970-978-0478 April 19, 2005 To Vicky We feel that we are being discrimated against by our local section 8 office for some false allegations reported by our neighbors to the landlord. We believe that our landlord is then informing the section 8 workers. The false allegation that Our neighbor was trying to say is that we have used racial slurs toward the Mexicans like the F'""int Mexicans and their F'""•Mexican music we had never said that.We were being evicted due to these false allegations and they say that we are harassing the others. I do not believe that we are harassing them we watch who comes in and out of the property due to having my vehicle broken into before and having windows busted out one night while we were gone. Well we contacted our case worker who's name is Manuela Pena we informed her of the situation and asked for new voucher so we could locate a new place she toll us to stay and fight it. I told her that this is the second time they were trying to evict us and we felt harassed. Manuela stated that if we get evicted we would be knocked off of housing, if we move we would tense housing too. 1-feel that we should be able to locate another place and remain on housing but we did go ahead and look fora new place and we have found a new place.I also told her that we should not be forced to say at our current location and not look for another place because If we would be evicted we would only have 48 hours to find another place which with our budget of less than$600.00 per month for the whole family of 2 to live on it would be next to impossible to find another place in the 48 hours. Our old location we got harassed so much that my mom which gets SSI has chest pains from time to time and we have severe headache's from all of the stress of the neighbors. We got through the court and again like the first time they took us to court the case was dismissed so we was not evicted.We moved due to all the harassment that our neighbors we doing which the landlord refused to address. We would like to get our section 8 voucher so we could provide it to the current landlord. We have !hied here fora few months and it is very hard to survive the rest of the month with the little bit of food stamps we get and paying 95%of the income to the landlord. We have tried to resolve this with the housing office in Greeley but keep getting the run around. I fell since those false allegations were probably told to her since she is a Mexican then that is why and how we are being discrimated against and that is illegal.We have never broken any rules on the section 8 WWI t1111 h but do know of another person that was violation of the section 8 program but since she was a different color they let her slide on breaking those rules. We have tried to call Carta Flores but she has never returned calls.k left a message for Tom at the housing office and he has called me back once and said he would investigate the matter and has never called me back I left a couple of new n lesmayes for trim to call me and has never calved back since.k have done some investigation and finally learned their reason for not giving us a new voucher but I will not go into great detail as it is part of my case.k can however tell you that we never ie,lived any letters terminating us from the program so I assume we should still be on the section 81 am demanding a voucher for our current landlord. If we can not get our voucher then k demand a l,cm n.y to discuss the case as I have found out that we are legally entitled to a hearing. The reason for waiting so long is it took a while to find out the correct places to file complaints. I will enclose copy's of the judgments in our favor and against the landlord showing#1 dismissed with prejudice and42 dismissed due to insufficient evidence to support the allegations. So as far as there being a eviction there was not one we moved out due to all the harassment by the neighbors and the landlord. Please let me know what you can do and I would like to get the hearing scheduled after 5/3/05 but before 5/24/05 the next avaailable time Would W0Uld be frprn 5/15/05 to 6/25/45 I would prefer to have the hearing in May some time between those dates they are the only day's that we would be available. I would like to have this problem taken care of soon. He was a client of the Greeley Housing Authority when he was served an eviction in November and moved out of the unit prior to ruling in the eviction. He moved with out notice and against our advice and policy. He wrote a letter to tell us he moved and to tell us what he thought of us. He has not requested a hearing of filed any grievance in accordance with our policy. He states that he has been told by HUD EEO that we were in the wrong. However HUD EEO has not contacted us and he does not know the name of the person he spoke to. It is the policy of both Housing Authorities that if a client is evicted for a substantial lease violation they lose their Housing. If you are on housing you are expected to obey the rules. If you take it upon yourself to move after an eviction has been served we take this as an admission of guilt and you lose your housing. I have provided some detail because I know you will have to provide info to County Council.
