Re: Objections to Case Number AmUSR-1255
To Whom It May Concern:
I have six objections to this amendment and special review permit. 1) The odor from an
asphalt batch plant is unpleasant and the emissions are unhealthy. 2) Gravel pits have
big equipment that generates a lot of noise. This noise takes away from the serenity of
the river setting with all of its wildlife. 3) I am on a water well that is vulnerable to
contamination from drawing too much water or from surface contamination getting into
the 35-60' level of water I use from. And of course, pumping the water table down to the
point that my well goes dry or at least has periods where it is dry because of too much
drawdown and not enough recovery time. 4) I am taxed at a residential rate, not
agricultural, and the area is in actuality a residential area. I'm not clear on how asphalt
and concrete batching is associated with agricultural zoning. 5) The gravel, asphalt, and
concrete truck traffic will increase. This will lead to more broken windshields, more road
damage, and more road congestion near my property. 6) The above points add up to
lower property values. I for one am not at all interested in seeing the value of my
property go down.
Respectfully,
Ross Bachofer
