OIL & GAS EQUIPMENT VALUATION
The State Board of Equalization (state board) will conduct hearings to consider the following:
The recommendations of the Property Tax Administrator regarding changes to the
Basic Equipment Lists (BELs) for 2005 found in the Assessors Reference Library
(ARL) Volume 5, Chapter 6. On December 16, 2004, the Statutory Advisory
Committee (SAC) to the Property Tax Administrator met to approve changes to the
2005 Assessors Reference Library manuals. At the meeting, representatives of the
Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA) made an objection regarding wellhead
values contained in the BELs. The Property Tax Administrator suggested that the
BELs be approved, subject to possible changes regarding wellhead values.
The state board will determine:
Whether the BELs recommended to the state board by the Statutory Advisory
Committee shall be accepted as is or as amended for wellhead changes.
