Home My WebLink About20052117.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING PURSUANT TO HB1451 AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding Pursuant to HB1451,Collaborative Management of Multi-agency Services Provided to Children and Families, among the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and various agencies, commencing July 1, 2005, and ending June 30, 2006, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said amendment, and WHEREAS,after review,the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,ex-officio Board of Social Services,that the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding Pursuant to HB1451 between the County of Weld,State of Colorado,by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and various agencies be, and hereby is, approved. Griego, Director, Social Services LA j-kti0p U RE: Amendment to Memorandum of Understanding Pursuant to HB04-1451 — Collaborative Management of Multi-agency Services Provided to Children and Families Enclosed for Board approval is an Amendment to Memorandum of Understanding Pursuant to HB04-1451, Collaborative Management of Multi-agency Services Provided to Children and Families. The Amendment was reviewed at the Board's Work Session held on July 20, 2005. The purpose of the Amendment is to add United Way of Weld County as a party to the Memorandum of Understanding. All other provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding remain the same. The other parties to the Memorandum of Understanding include: the Board of County Commissioners; 19"'Judicial District; Probation— 19th Judicial District; District Attorney— 19th Judicial District; Centennial Board of Cooperative Educational Services; School District 6; Weld County Division of Human Services; Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment; North Range Behavioral Health; Northeast Behavioral Health, L.L.C.; Island Grove Regional Treatment Center; and Division of Youth Corrections. Each signatory to this MOU is referred to as a "Party", and collectively as "Parties". WHEREAS, the Colorado General Assembly has determined that a collaborative approach to the delivery of services to children and families may lead to the provision of more appropriate and effective delivery of services; and WHEREAS, the Colorado General Assembly has determined that such collaboration may ultimately allow the agencies providing treatment and services to provide appropriate services to children and families within existing consolidated resources; and WHEREAS, the Colorado General Assembly has determined that it is in the best interests of the State of Colorado to establish a collaborative management of multi-agency services provided to children and families; and WHEREAS, the undersigned desire to amend their"Original Agreement" of May 31, 2005, for the collaboration of services to families and children who would benefit from integrated multi-agency services; and WHEREAS, the parties to the"Original Agreement"have determined, through a voting majority,that United Way be a representative to the Oversight Group established under the Agreement; and WHEREAS, United Way agrees to all provisions of the "Original Agreement"of May 31, 2005 and wishes to become a party of the"Original Agreement". 1 2005-2117 MOU; Amendment 1 7/21/05 NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and mutual promises and covenants herein contained, the Parties agree as follows: 1. Section IV, Oversight Group, Item D, of the "Original Agreement" of May 31, 2005, is amended to increase the voting membership of fourteen (14) members to fifteen (15) members and to add United Way as the fifteenth member. 2. All other provisions of the "Original Agreement" of May 31, 2005, shall remain the same.
