The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County
Home Rule Charter, Tuesday, May 17, 2005, 6:30 p.m., at Weld County Centennial
Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by President Chip Marks. Vice
President Dwaine Kurtz, Councilman Tom Pettit, and Councilman Gene Stille were
present, constituting a quorum of the members. Also present: Douglas Rademacher,
Matt Derrington, and Bev Thomas, council secretary.
AGENDA ADDITIONS/APPROVAL: The agenda was approved by consent.
RECOGNITION OF RETIRING COUNCILMEMBER RADEMACHER: Vice President
Dwaine Kurtz made a motion to approve Resolution 149 recognizing retiring
Councilman Douglas Rademacher. The motion carried unanimously. The resolution
was read aloud and a copy was presented to Mr. Rademacher. Council President Chip
Marks also presented Mr. Rademacher an engraved plaque in appreciation for his
service to Weld County.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Councilman Tom Pettit made a motion to approve the April
19, 2005 council minutes. The motion was seconded and carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Additional Comments on County Computer Security Breach
Douglas Rademacher reported on his April 25 meeting with Sheriff Cooke. It was
determined that the Council would continue to attend all ACS briefings and monitor
ACS's relationship with Weld County.
NEW BUSINESS:
Councilman Vacancy in District 2
Council members will advertise for applicants to fill the County Council District 2 seat.
The council will interview applicants and fill the District 2 vacancy at a special meeting
on June 20 at the Weld County Centennial Center.

Appointments and Announcements
Councilmen Marks, Pettit, and Stille will attend the May 24 ACS Specialists Workshop
for Weld County officials. Councilman Gene Stifle will attend the May 25 Workshop
Dealing with Upset Citizens & the Public. Councilmen Kurtz and Stille will attend the
June ACS Briefing. Councilmen Marks and Pettit will attend the June 20 Elected
Officials Meeting.
2006 Council Budget Proposal
President Chip Marks and Bev Thomas will prepare a 2006 council budget proposal for
consideration at the June 21 council meeting.
Coordinator Reports
President Chip Marks reported on a meeting he attended with Commissioner Masden
and Kim Ogle from the Planning Department pertaining to a Texas company looking for
a site in Weld County for a small power generation plant.
Payment of the Bills
Councilman Gene Stille made a motion to pay the bills as listed.
Mileage for Councilman Chip Marks $52.75
Mileage for Councilman Tom Pettit $ 7.70
Mileage for Retiring Councilman Douglas Rademacher $23.10
Mileage for Gene Stille $ 8.86
Expenses for Bev Thomas $60.93

The motion was seconded and approved.
ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Gene Stille made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
