BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
NOVEMBER 23, 2005

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, November 23, 2005, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jenny VanEgdom
Controller, Barbara Eurich
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of November 21,2005,as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Barbara Eurich,Controller,presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount
of $55,790.82. Commissioner Long moved to approve the warrants as presented by Ms. Eurich.
Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT COOPERATIVE REIMBURSEMENTAGREEMENTAND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,
stated the term of the agreement is January 1, 2006, through December 31, 2006, and the Weld County
Attorney will provide legal services in establishing paternity and support obligations,and in securing support
for any persons eligible for Child Support services. She further stated the source of funding is Child Support
funds, and the Department agrees to reimburse the Weld County Attorney a total not to exceed
$127,463.00,for personnel and related expenses. In response to Commissioner Geile, Ms.Griego stated
the Weld County Attorney provides the legal establishment of paternity,and the Department must have legal
representation in Court. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair
to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Long, the motion carried unanimously.

CONSIDER COMMUNITY FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO
SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the term of the agreement will end June 30, 2006. She stated the Department
acts as the pass through agency for nutrition services in the amount of$4,837.76. She further stated the
nutrition services will be delivered by the Weld Food Bank through the disbursement of food baskets to
eligible clients. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said contract and authorize the Chair to sign.
Seconded by Commissioner Long, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES FOR PSYCHIATRIC
CONSULTATIONS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-THERON SILLS,M.D.: Ms.Griego stated the term
of the agreement is January 1, 2006, through December 31, 2006. She stated Dr. Sills will provide
consultations at two Child Protection meetings per month, and will provide consultation in crisis situations.
Ms. Griego stated Dr. Sills will be reimbursed through Child Welfare Block Funds, for an amount not to
exceed$3,600.00 per year. Commissioner Long moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair
to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
