HomeMy WebLinkAbout20053038.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO OCTOBER 12, 2005 TAPE #2005-37 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, October 12, 2005, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair Pro-Tem and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner William H. Jerke, Chair- EXCUSED Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tern Commissioner David E. Long Commissioner Robert D. Masden - EXCUSED Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Jenny VanEgdom Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Long moved to approve the minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting of October 10, 2005, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. AMENDMENTS TO AGENDA: There were no amendments to the agenda. PUBLIC INPUT: No public input was given. CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the consent agenda as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. COMMISSIONER COORDINATORREPORTS: Commissioner Vaad stated he attended a Coordinator meeting of Coordinators with Dr. Mark Wallace. He stated associates around the state discussed being prepared to handle natural disasters, in light of the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster. He further stated Weld County has taken many steps for preparation since September 11,2001. Commissioner Vaad stated an additional workshop will be scheduled, and a subsequent meeting with the Press may follow. WARRANTS: Donald Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the following warrants for approval by the Board: All Funds $455,522.59 2005-3038 BC0016 Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. BIDS: PRESENT 3/4 TON 4X4 EXTENDED CAB PICKUP TRUCK WITH BI-FUEL PACKAGE OPTION BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT: Mr.Warden read the name of the sole vendor who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on October 26, 2005. PRESENT CLASS 8 TRUCK TRACTOR BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden stated the following bids for the Department of Public Works are part of the Energy Impact Grant. He read the name of the four vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENTTANDEMTRUCKTRAILER FIFTH WHEEL AND WET KIT BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden read the names of the four vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENT BELLY DUMP TRAILER BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden read the names of the three vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENT MOTORGRADERS BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden read the names of the six vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENTD-8T HIGH TRACK BULLDOZER WITH RIPPER BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden read the names of the three vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENT TANDEM TRUCK-TRACTOR WITH SNOW PLOW AND MATERIAL SPREADER BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden read the names of the five vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENTWATER TRAILER BID-DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden read the name of the sole vendor who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENT FOUR-TON PNEUMATIC TIRE ROLLER COMPACTOR BID- DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden read the names of the three vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENTSELF-PROPELLEDVIBRATORYTRENCH COMPACTOR BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden read the names of the five vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. PRESENT ROAD RECLAIMER BID-DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden read the names of the four vendors who submitted a bid into the record. Responding to Commissioner Vaad, Mr.Warden stated the Department is currently leasing a reclaimer, and considered purchasing the leased machine; however, it was decided that purchasing a new machine would be of greater benefit. Said bid will be considered for approval on November 2, 2005. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
