HomeMy WebLinkAbout20053629.tiff 3_ EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 236 IN THE MATTER OF SETTING THE MILL LEVY FOR THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR WELD COUNTY, COLORADO, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO: WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld, State of Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter,is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, it is necessary, by Colorado statute and by the Weld County Home Rule Charter, to set the mill levy for the annual appropriation for Weld County Colorado for Fiscal Year 2006, and WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado, adopted the annual budget in accordance with the Local Government Budget Law,on December 14,2005,and WHEREAS,the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for County funds is as follows: FUND AMOUNT County General Fund $ 44,490,317 Public Works Fund 6,671,146 Social Services Fund 5,600,000 Contingent Fund 1,300,000 Capital Expenditures 5,575,000 IGS - Insurance Fund 1,000,000 $ 64,636,463 WHEREAS,the 2005 valuation for assessment for the County of Weld as certified by the County Assessor is $3,611,033,570 for Budget Year 2006. 1\814411111\2142010\6\040\011211\3Aleolir 111IIIIlull lllllllIIIII 0.00D . eno Clerk&R 2005-3629 �99 ORD236 ('0':1714 ,4cu0, //1'5 1 D/-/9-e24_, RE: ORDINANCE NO. 236 - SET MILL LEVY, 2006 PAGE 2 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINEDbythe Board of County Commissioners in and for the County of Weld, State of Colorado, that for the purpose of meeting all legal expenses under Sections 29-1-301 through 29-1-305,C.R.S.,Section 14-7 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, there is hereby levied the following mills upon each dollar of the total valuation for assessment of all taxable property within the County for Fiscal Year 2006: FUND MILLS REVENUE County General Fund 12.321 $44,490,317 Public Works Fund 1.847 6,671,146 Social Services Fund 1.551 5,600,000 Contingent Fund 0.360 1,300,000 Capital Expenditures Fund 1.544 5,575,000 IGS - Insurance Fund 0.277 1,000,000 17.900 $ 64,636,463 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board that the County Assessor and the County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado, be, and hereby are, authorized and directed to make such entries upon their books, at such time or times as will be necessary to make this Mill Levy Ordinance effective for the annual appropriation for Weld County,Colorado,for Fiscal Year2006. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board that an emergency exists inasmuch as State law requires that the mill levy of Weld County, Colorado, be enacted on or before the 14th day of December, 2005,therefore,this Ordinance is declared to be an Emergency Ordinance under the provisions of Section 3-14 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board, if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held or decided to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
