HomeMy WebLinkAbout20051332.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with an Amendment to the Community Services Block Grant Contract between the County of Weld,State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,on behalf of the Department of Human Services,and the Department of Local Affairs,commencing March 1,2005,and ending February 28,2006,with further terms and conditions being as stated in said amendment, and WHEREAS,after review,the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado,that the Amendment to the Community Services Block Grant Contract between the County of Weld,State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Local Affairs be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be,and hereby is,authorized to sign said amendment. Speckman, Executive Director, Human Services SUBJECT: Community Services Block Grant for 03/01/2005- 09/01/2005. To be placed on Agenda for May 2, 2005. Enclosed for Board approval is the Community Services Block Grant Award of discretionary funds for The Weld County Food Bank. The Colorado Department of Local Affairs will award Weld County$65,000 of which$10,000.00 will be distributed to Boulder Food Bank, Colorado Springs Food Bank,Denver Food Bank and Ft. Collins Food Bank.For Weld County's Contract services the award will be $25,000.00 The total of the request is for$65,000.00. The focus of the grant is reimburse county food bank's$10,000.00,in order to maintain needed food items in their inventories. These are discretionary funds to be used by 9/1/2005. These discretionary are funds to be used for by Weld County Food Bank. The Weld County Food Bank will receive$25,000 and distribute the remaining dollars to: Boulder Food Bank-$10,000; Colorado Springs Food Bank-$10,000; Denver Food Bank-$10,000; and Fort Collins Food Bank-$10,000. 8. Performance Period: Start: 3/1/2005 End on or Before: 2/28/2006 9. Scope of Service or Project Plan: The Contractor is awarded funds to provide services in the following Federal Objective(s) as identified in its CSBG Application and Project Plan: Federal Objective Employment X Education Income Management Housing Emergency Services Nutrition X Linkages with Other Programs X Self-Sufficiency X Health All receipts and expenditures associated with the Project shall be documented in a detailed and specific manner, and shall be in accordance with the Federal Objectives set forth above. Contractor may not adjust line item budget amounts without prior approval of the State. State approved budget changes shall be issued through an amended award letter. • 10. Grant Considerations: All terms and conditions entered into by the State and the Grantee in the original Contract are incorporated by reference. The Award Provisions, Attachment A, is attached and considered to be part of this award letter. The Contractor's CSBG Application and Project Plan for the performance period is incorporate by reference. 11. Award Acceptance. Contractor's failure to object in writing to special conditions or other award provisions or terms within ten (10) days of the date the grant award letter or amendment is received by the Contractor shall constitute acceptance of the terms and conditions as stated in the original Contract,this Award Letter, and the Award Provisions.
