RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 41 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 46 AND
50 FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 CALENDAR DAYS, FOR INSTALLATION OF A WATER
LINE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof
for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project
completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure
establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of
the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,deems it necessary to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads
and any intersections thereof,and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control
devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the
safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 41 between Weld County Roads 46
and 50 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective October 5,2005,for approximately
30 calendar days for the installation of a water line, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

SUBJECT: Road Closure for WCR 41 from WCR 46 to WCR 50
This is a road closure to be submitted to the BOCC for the 10/3/05 agenda. Brown Contracting is requesting the
closure of WCR 41 from WCR 46 to WCR 50 for the installation of an 8" water line for Central Weld County Water
District. The requested closure is scheduled to take place starting on October 5, 2005 and go until November 4,
2005.
The ADT count for WCR 41 from WCR 46 to WCR 50 is 58 taken on 4/23/03. The detour route will be WCR 50
(paved) to WCR 39 (paved) or WCR 43 (paved) then to WCR 46 (gravel). All but three houses along WCR 46
from WCR 39 to WCR 43 have been treated with dust suppressant. Brown Contracting has agreed to place and
maintain dust suppressant in front of the three houses that have none. They have also agreed to place information
signs up with the contractors name and phone number on it.
