Dear Mr Carlson:
This is the notification of my intention to retire as the Director of the Weld
County Library on December 31, 1983. It is with mixed emotions that I take
this step.
There is a sadness in leaving a position that has been fulfilling, challenging,
and exciting for almost thirty years. However, there is also pleasure in looking
forward to free time for other interests, and my husband and I are looking forward
to travelling without the time restrictions of vacations.
I cannot find words to express my appreciation for my fellow staff members
through the years, for they have been a second family to me. The guidance
and encouragement I have received from the trustees have always been exceptional,
and I am grateful for that. The growth of the library has been made possible by
commissioners who have understood its worth to the county and been willing to
provide financial support. As the library has become more completely integrated
with the rest of the county organization, the help of Don Warden and other county
officials has been very valuable.
Together we can be proud of our library. I am confident that I am leaving
trained and capable leadership, an effective support staff and a knowledgeable
board. Now I shall be able to join other retirees in looking for continued
progress in meeting the library needs of Weld County citizens.
