HomeMy WebLinkAbout20021368.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES -WILLIAM AND BETTY JO TAYLOR WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 29th day of May, 2002, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair Glenn Vaad and Commissioners M. J. Geile, William H. Jerke, David E. Long, and Robert D. Masden, and WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, and said Assessor, Stan Sessions, being represented by Michael Sampson, and taxpayer William and Betty Jo Taylor, not being present, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have carefully considered the attached petition, and are fully advised in relation thereto. Due to the re-appraisal year being 1999 the adjustment should be made in the year 2000 and 1999. The land value in 1999 was allotted as 17.5 acres unplatted and assessed at 29% and 2 acres being residentially assessed at 9.74%. The land is corrected in 1999 to be 19.5 acres of residential land assessed at 9.74%. The change in land abstract and assessment rate is reflected in the large rebate of taxes. This refund should have been done in 2000.
