RE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF USED STEEL
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering has requested the Board
to approve the purchase of 186 , 593 pounds of used steel from
Industrial Steel and Pipe Supply, Brighton, Colorado, at a cost
of 181 cents per pound for a grand total of $34 , 519 . 71 , with bid
prices for similar steel being 28 cents per pound, and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the used steel from Industrial
Steel and Pipe Supply would result in a savings of $17 , 726 . 33 for
Weld County, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable and in the best inter-
ests of Weld County to purchase said used steel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the authorization to
purchase 186 , 593 pounds of used steel from Industrial Steel and
Pipe Supply, Brighton, Colorado at a total cost of $34 , 519 . 71 be,
and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the ten day waiting
period be, and hereby is, waived.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 6th day of
April, A.D. , 1983 .
