The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, November 27, 2002, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Chair
Commissioner David E. Long, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner M. J. Geile - EXCUSED
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of November 25,2002,as printed. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion,and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $12,208.29. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER FOUR REVISED NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR FOSTER
PARENT CONSULTATION WITH VARIOUS VENDORS AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN: Judy
Griego, Director of Social Services, stated the four revised awards are with Ackerman and Associates,
P.C., Lutheran Family Services, Lori Kochevar, and North Range Behavioral Health. She stated the
revisions will decrease the number of one-on-one consultation sessions provided by the vendors, and
increases the use of foster parent group sessions, with a maximum group rate of$300 for a minimum of
eight foster parents. Ms. Griego further stated the revision was effective November 1, 2002, and will
continue through May 31, 2003. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said revised awards and
authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was seconded by CommissionerJerke,and it carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
